Dry body brushing – why and how to do it (+VIDEO Tutorial)

Why?

Doing dry body brushing for just a few minutes a day before a bath or shower will promote your lymph, helping your body metabolize toxins more efficiently, discouraging fluid retention, and cellulite. Your skin will also be soft and toned if you implement body brushing in your daily routine. The benefits are immediate and lasting:

  • Improves circulation
  • Stimulates lymphatic drainage
  • Removes excess fluid from the body
  • Evenly distributes fat deposits
  • Overtime can reduce cellulite
  • Rejuvenates the nervous system

How?

It is so simple – just swift strokes up your body towards your heart.

Start with strokes from your feet towards your knees, followed by a few short strokes behind your knees where there is a density of lymph. Then up over your thighs to your hips and over buttocks. When it comes to your arms, start from your hands and brush up to your elbows. Then move up over upper arms to shoulders. But the main thing to remember is, maintain steady, long, swift strokes of the bristles.

Dry brushing will cause temporary redness to the skin.

When?

The best is to do it every morning, but doing it in the evening is okay too. Mornings are the best, so you start the circulation and detoxing first thing in the morning.

Simply turn on your morning shower, grab your brush, and do a few brisk strokes over your legs and arms while the water heats up.

It really takes two minutes or less!
